HTML Compressor PRO Editor's Review

There are sometimes programs that let me wonder why they don't work or if I don't know how to use them. Sadly, HTML Compressor Pro is one of these programs. The program is supposed to compress web pages so they load faster.

I tried to compress some of my websites with no luck. After the compression was complete, some pictures were missing and the dynamic pages didn't work anymore. I tried to compress a website, which includes some PHP pages, but even though the compression process completed without any errors, the website wasn't accessible anymore.

The idea behind this software is good. Stripping web pages of unnecessary lines can improve webpage loading times. HTML Compressor Pro is supposed to remove non-essential spaces and tabs. It should also be able to replace certain HTML tags with shorter ones and remove all comments, line breaks, etc.

Pluses:

Drawbacks / flaws: Although the progress bar works, the program stops responding when the user presses the "Compress" button. In addition, whenever I tried to add more than 50 files to my project, the program stopped responding for a couple of seconds.

In conclusion: I guess this program would be useful if it would work properly. I'm waiting for a second version.
